Griselda Flores

Senior Editor, Latin

Griselda Flores is Billboard’s senior editor, Latin. From identifying cultural and musical trends that can lead to in-depth print or online pieces to interviewing key players (artists and executives) and fully understanding the business of music and the money driving it behind the scenes, Griselda is fully immersed in all things Latin music. As Latin music revenues hit an all-time high, Griselda has written cover stories for global superstars who’ve led this generation’s Latin boom, such as Karol G (2021), Anitta (2022), Grupo Firme (2022), Peso Pluma (2023) and, most recently, Christian Nodal (2024). As a superfan of regional Mexican music, Griselda has followed closely the decades-old genre’s mainstream takeover and seismic growth in the United States and beyond. In "Regional Mexican Music Isn’t Just Having a Moment — It’s Been a Movement", she helps break down why regional Mexican isn’t just having a moment but rather has become a movement, ushered by a new generation of Mexican and Mexican-American artists. Previously an assignment editor for Univision Chicago, where she won an Emmy Award for news specialty report/series (Marlen Ochoa’s murder case), Griselda was born and raised in Chicago and is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College Chicago and a master’s degree from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism.
